Destination Wedding: Five of our Favourite IdeasBejouled News
Since it’s summer and the weather here in Scotland has been up and down more than a roller coaster, we thought we’d talk all things destination wedding. As you may know Youtube royalty Jamie Genevieve got married in Italy last week for a super intimate ceremony and we were feeling inspired.
Destination weddings can allow you to create the most whimsical experience. Usually they can be a bit more intimate with few close guests. This means that instead of paying and making room for 300 guests you can indulge in a romantic intimate setting. Whether that’s on the beach, in a mountain or a stunning french chateau, there are really no limits.
If you are going somewhere hot (which you should), the wedding dress will have to be a little bit lighter than a home wedding dress. Light fabrics are a must and we think strappy dresses or completely strapless are the best option. You want to be super comfortable and still feeling beautiful.
The Little Things
If you are like me and love a good theme, you can absolutely milk the travel aspect of your destination wedding. I love these little ideas all to do with travelling. These invitations that are like boarding passes are amazing to let your guests know that they will be going away for your wedding. And how amazing is the idea of a globe as your guest book. Such amazing ideas that can really highlight the adventure aspect of your big day.
The Food and Drink
The other best part of a destination wedding is the food! You can really explore the culture of your destination. In this case we’ve chosen Italy and their amazing pizza and gelato. Forget set menus and let your guests indulge in amazing food and drink that they wish they could have everyday. Whether its Greek Gyros, Italian Pizza & Pasta or Spanish Tapas, get creative!
