Think Marie Antoinette and Jane Austen. Very Feminine and Romantic with natural, floral motifs and most settings being made from Yellow Gold or Silver.
Often featuring larger, coloured stones surrounded by smaller diamonds on each side, this style was defined by the reign of Queen Victoria. Rings inspired by this era are typically ornate with engraved gold settings and scrolls.
Within this era, Platinum became the metal of choice. Because it is much harder than gold and silver, Designs became more intricate and designs of this period appeared more dainty and lacy in style.
Platinum reminded the most popular choice of metal, but the introduction of Emerald Cut and Diamond Baguettes created a new geometric look that was much more minimalist than previous eras.
Defined by the Hollywood Golden Age, mid-century rings were bold and oversized. During this time, new cuts of diamonds were introduced including pear shaped and marquise-cut making them very popular.
